Plot

The ghosts of a deceased couple are haunted by an insufferable family that moves into their home and hires a malevolent spirit to exorcise them.. This is Michael Keaton’s favorite movie.. Otho’s shoes when he spray paints the walls of the house change from red shoes that look like a fireman’s elf to white sneakers as he passes the bathroom and then change back into red elf shoes as he enters the next room.. Adam : What are your qualifications? Beetlejuice: Ah. Well… I graduated from Harvard Business School.

I travel a lot

I lived through the black plague and had a pretty good time during it. I’VE WATCHED THE EXORCIST ABOUT ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY SEVEN TIMES, AND IT GETS FUNNIER EVERY TIME I SEE IT… NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU’RE TALKING TO THE DEAD… WHAT ARE YOU THINKING NOW? Do you think I’m qualified? The Geffen logo is accompanied by an eerie version of the Banana Boat song (sung by the film’s composer, Danny Elfman). A work print of the film has surfaced with some added/alternate scenes.

Instead of a desert, he sees an empty darkness filled with rolling cogs

This version of the film is about 2 minutes shorter than the theatrical release, has a few extra scenes and is missing some others, is in black and white, and has a timecode at the bottom. This version has 4 main differences: Alternate Scene: The scene where Adam tries to leave the house after he and his wife have died is different. Additional Scenes: Added a scene where Lydia develops the pictures she took of Adam and Barbra. Then, after her mother yells at her and blames her for cutting holes in her sheets, Lydia runs upstairs and tries to convince her father that the pictures are real. There’s more to it than the scene where the adults search the attic for ghosts where we see a desert monster trying to eat Adam and Barbra while they’re hanging from an attic window. There is an extra 2 minute scene at the end where we see Lydia riding her bike home from school and her parents talking to Jane on the phone telling her they don’t want to sell the house. Lydia’s dance scene is shorter in this version and there is no scene with Beetlejuice in the waiting room.

The film ends with a final shot of the exterior of the house. Day-OTraditional, lyrics by William A. Attaway & Irving Burgie[Incorrectly listed as written by William A. Attaway & Irving Burgie (as Lord Burgess)] Performed by Harry Belafonte Courtesy of RCA Records. This is a great movie to simply watch and enjoy–no need to think or analyze–just enjoy the goofiness and cool factor of this lovely movie. A young couple living in their dream house (Alec Baldwin and Gina Davis) is accidentally killed and after that they live as ghosts in the house. A little later, a family of freaks (Jeffery Jones, Catherine O'Hara) and their disaffected daughter (Winona Ryder) move in – moreover, ghosts' mourning.

The actors also do a good job

This is because instead of respecting the charms of the lovely house, the parents want to turn it into a pseudo-intellectual house of freaks. However, Winona can somehow see and communicate with the ghosts–but her parents can’t believe they exist or that they’re doing anything wrong with the house. A dead couple tries to scare the family, but their attempts are really lame (and funny) and it only makes the weirdos want to stay even more! So, out of desperation, they turn to the meanest and most disgusting ghost, Beetle Juice (Michael Keaton) to help them. The problem is that while Beetle Juice is capable of scaring anyone, he’s also a complete maniac and once he’s unleashed, he’s incredibly hard to stop. The film abounds in many of the things you’d expect to see in a Tim Burton-directed film–weird special effects, unusual scenery (after the weirdos transform the house), fun, and a definite “cool factor”.
