Britain allowed filming inside the office of the foreign secretary, an honor rarely granted to any film or movie production, especially an American one
Plot
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, lands a high-profile job she is ill-suited to, with tectonic implications for her marriage and her political future. The producers convinced the American and British governments to let them use real-life locations as filming locations for the series, including the brand-new American embassy (in Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

The only location that was unavailable was Winfield House, the royal residence of the American ambassador. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential plot (11 acres) in London outside Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.
Absolutely top-notch production and acting
The script is clever and interesting, engaging and well-paced. The character development is very robust, and the players aren’t just caricatures.
Professional situations that suddenly turn into “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy” seemingly out of nowhere
Time and time again, a character will seem one-dimensional at first, but then the story develops and they’re actually much more complex than they first appear. My only complaint is that some of the injected “romance” plots are so clunky and out of place that they’re disjointed and jarring.
