Plot
Helen begins a passionate affair with a man who has no idea what her secret personality is. Helen’s employer, caught in the crosshairs when her lover became a victim of London’s dangerous underworld, calls Sam to protect her. He plays Bingo, the owner of the guitar store where Sam buys guns.
Everything starts very well
The Graham Norton Show Starring: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024). A Tale of New York, screenplay by Jem Finer, Shane McGowan, featuring The Pogues & Kirsty McCall. This is one of those ordinary entertainments in which you can’t find fault with the acting, and the production quality is almost flawless.
But John Le Carré is not
You think that you will be absorbed and seduced by a complex spy thriller. Instead, you soon realize that it is neither serious nor funny. As it often happens these days, the problem is the lack of history.
A sad disappointment, it could have been really good
It has quirky characters and characters with all the charm and wit expected of psychopaths. They may be related to Eve from Killing Eve, but they’re poor cousins, and they don’t match up very well on the psychopath DNA inheritance scale. This is a comic caricature of a spy thriller, the plot of which is based on a thin plot and frequent voluminous action scenes.
