Then I had this crazy idea to write a novel
When it ended, he returned to Britain, unemployed and unsure of what to do next. He said, “I came back at Christmas ’69, clean-shaven.” It’s hard no chance of getting a job, no flat, no car and no savings. ‘Everyone said you must be joking or mad because the chances of it even being published are hundreds to one, even thousands.’ Within weeks of publication, the film rights were taken away.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars vied for the role of the Jackal in the 1973 film, but the role went to a then-unknown Edward Fox because director Fred Zinnemann thought he could blend in with the crowd. (Airmail). I came here to check the reviews to see if anyone else had noticed how lame the leading lady’s performance was, and I was surprised to see that many others felt the same way.
That being said, the series itself is a masterpiece of suspense
Unfortunately, Lashana’s portrayal is a glaring weakness in this otherwise excellent adaptation of The Day of the Jackal. Her expressions seem stiff, her delivery lacks authenticity, and her performance breaks the gripping tension of an otherwise excellent crime thriller. While I haven’t seen her other work and she could shine in different roles, her performance here feels amateurish and inadequate.
If you’re a fan of crime thrillers, this is definitely worth your time
The story is engaging, the pacing keeps you hooked, and the rest of the cast delivers top-notch performances. Lashana’s flaws aside, the overall production and gripping storyline make it an unforgettable experience.
