When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said Goldstein initially wanted a “Harrison Ford type,” and was going to audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that he wanted to bring it to Ford, but he thought he would immediately reject it, but at least he would get other famous actors interested so that others would hear that Harrison Ford brought the project to him. Ultimately, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him on the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was excited nonetheless. Featured in WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). This was a solid production and a very unique storyline. The acting is excellent. I love how each character embraces their imperfections and shows their weaknesses and uses humor for spiritual growth. There are heartfelt moments to shrink, awkward moments, beautifully soft-comedy moments, and laugh-out-loud moments. I hope they keep doing this for additional seasons because the character development requires it. Is it perfect? No. But none of us are. I think the overuse of profanity takes away from the overall power of this. It’s like the writers are forcing the show to be exciting. I personally don’t think it’s necessary. That’s why I gave it an 8. Definitely worth watching.
